This is a lovely vintage pattern for knitted clothing to fit dolls 16 inches in length. The pattern gives instructions for six items, namely; a dress, matinee coat (also called a cardigan in the pattern), hat, shoes, vest and pants, which were originally knitted in Lee Target 'Cherub' Baby Wool, which on investigation seemed similar to our modern 4-ply. So try a modern 4-ply but work a tension square to see if a change of needles is needed to obtain the tension stipulated in the pattern. A lovely set of clothing to knit for a special doll!
