In this
listing we have the partial outfit from the 2020 Barbie Fantasy hair
doll. This outfit was released by Mattel in 2020 as part of the
Barbie line. You will get everything in the pictures. There is a
white t-shirt with the image of a unicorn on front with pink surging
at the collar, sleeves, and bottom hem, a light blue t-shirt with an
image of a mermaid on front with light purple surging at the neck,
sleeves, and bottom hem, a oversized purple plastic Barbie brush, a
cardboard piece with the Barbie logo that has three colored elastics
(light yellow, light purple, and bright pink), a pair of silver
plastic high heels, and a pair of pink plastic hi-top sneakers. The
clothing pieces are designed for the “Original” Barbie body and
will fit similar sized dolls. The sneakers look to be flat footed,
but have a heel in them so they are for dolls with the high heeded
feet. The shirts close in the back with Velcro and the shoes have a
slit in the back to help put them on the doll’s feet. This outfit
was made in Indonesia. My pictures came out a little saturated, the
colors are more muted in person. The
clothing pieces and accessories are in good shape. They have never
been played with and were just removed from the box and put into
storage. They do have some minor issues though. The Unicorn and the
Mermaid shirt are in good shape. Mattel did use those awful plastic
tabs when putting them into the box so at shoulders in the front and
back back there are two small holes in the fabric. No matter how
careful you are in removing the tabs, the damage happens when they
put them in at the factory. They are pretty small now, but they could
stretch and run when they are put on a doll. They might need to be
treated to make sure they don’t get any worse. A couple of them
still have part of the plastic tab in the fabric. The sleeves are
built into the main body of the shirts. There is some puckering along
the seam lines and the sleeves tend to want to curl up into
themselves at the sleeves. The surging along the hems is a little
sloppy in some spots. It’s not bad, just in a few spots the threads
are a little spread out and you can see the unfinished fabric through
it. There are some excess threads at the back where the Velcro is
attached and at both arm holes from the side seams. There are also
some excess threads and small sewing flaws at the side seams on the
shirts on the bottom hem. The shoes look good. They do have seam
lines and mold injection spots, but they will all have that. When you
look at the shoes closely you can see some small molding flaws, but
they are very minor. The pink sneakers are a bit narrow, but that was
a design choice. They’re not as wide as actual sneakers. The brush
looks good. It also has seam lines and mold injection spots. There
are a few molding flaws here and there, but they are pretty minor.
The cardboard piece looks good, it’s just part of the packaging, so
it’s pretty delicate. There are holes in both parts with the logo
where it was plastic tabbed together. The elastics look good, but
these don’t age well. In a short period of time they will become
brittle and break. I’ve never stretched them, but by the time this
listing sells, they could have already become too delicate to use.
