Antique 1858 GREINER Doll ~ All Original ~ GORGEOUS! ~ 30 Inches Tall ~

GREINER Doll Antique, 1858 Paper Mache Original Outfit with dress and unders Unique Original heavy china hands with outlining Nice large 30" size NO ODORS! Please zoom in on pictures for condition I am downsizing my personal collection a bit and this doll has been in my personal collection for over 20 years. She is a particularly choice Greiner with all original clothes.  The white unders have yellowed a bit, and the pantaloons were stitched to the legs.  The leather and horsehair shoes are very worn. She is missing the Greiner label, although the void in the lacquer is clearly visible.  What always made up for that for me was the lovely cotton clothes and the fabulous hands.  Most of the Greiners that I've had over the years had cloth hands or leather ones.  These hands are a very heavy china or porcelain, glazed with delicate outlining around the fingernails.  There appears to be no retouch of the doll; however, the black pupils of the eyes might have been retouched...I'm just not sure.  Nothing else was retouched--and the eyes may not have been either.  Just not sure, but I wanted to mention it. Somewhere along the line, a little girl added a necklace to her.  I think it is Bakelite--just not sure.  But since it was a loving thing to add, I will of course send it along with her. Very special indeed!  No odors, and has been displayed in my glass cabinet out of the sunshine for two decades.  Please zoom in on pix for a good look. Very sweet--Grab it while you can!
